Haloween 2

Now I am a huge fan of Rob Zombie, but please don't butcher my fav horror movies too badly. I went and saw Rob Zombie's Halloween remake, and I can't really remember anything that happened. Granted I was drunk as fuck when I saw it, but I remember being bored as hell..

I saw the trailer for the new movie coming out, and I am not too impressed. The shape in the new movie is walking around looking like that sailor off of "I Know What You Did Last Summer". Oh well, I guess they could have picked a horrible director to make these films, so I really shouldn't complain too much.

The great thing about the originals where they delivered so many scares without having much blood on screen, and where very effective, and is still to date the highest grossing independent film ever made. If I wanted to see a gore show I would watch a Friday the 13th movie, Halloween should have never tried to copy the Fridays.

Gore isn't scary. We as a generation have become desensitized when it comes to gross things. They need to go back to old fashion thrills. Not just some dude chasing and hacking up some chick and a few moments where something jumps out and surprises you. I can't remember the last scary movie I went to that was actually scary.

I personally find that movies that are very psychologically fucked up to be the scary ones. One that really messed me up was In The Mouth Of Madness. Sure some of the acting was cheesy and the story is very bizarre but by the end of that movie I felt very unnerved. Another brain fuck movie would be Requiem For A Dream, granted this movie isn't a horror or even a thriller but this movie is so powerful and real that it'll make you feel sick to your stomach. I think directors and writers need to take a cue from ideas like these. As :iconspookychild: has mentioned, you don't need a lot of gore for it to be horror.

I like the remake I htink its a good idea to do wht he is doin it, but no mttr wht the 1st 2 Halloweens kicked ass and will always be the best.

I think what they make now works for the general public, but us horror fans need a little more. Like building suspense and a good story.

I agree fully, the ones that really stuck with me are: "Last House on the Left" (the original Wes Craven movie, haven't seen the remake) and "I Spit on Your Grave". Also movies like "Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer" are totally realistic, and don't have movie monsters in them. Those are the ones that fuck with people's morals, and really dig deep into a person's psyche.

The movies now days work for the general public, but the horror fans require something more for these movies to be effective. It's the fans that mainly see these movies.

the orginal horror movies of the 70-80's are better because now one ever seen anything like it before and also low budget seems to make for grittier horror the only good horror movie in twenty years is silent hill it was sick and satanic
